Food, frivolity and friends make for a perfect evening

The groaning board of fabulous food
      Take a perfectly balmy Northern California evening, add a groaning board of fabulous food, throw in laughter and the happy din of conversation -- and you have all the ingredients for a sensational soiree.

      The Saturday, July 24th soiree was the second social evening for AAUW Fremont Branch members of the season.   It was held in the Quail Room Clubhouse of members Steve and Amy Cho’s housing development.  The first was held in Beth Booth’s beautiful home on June 25th.

      Over 25 members and their guests barbecued food of their choice, shared a pot luck dish with others and generally got to know each other better.

      Steve and Amy, who so generously donated their clubhouse for the event, rushed to clean up from a previous event they hosted from noon to 4:00 p.m.for a local organization they are affiliated with.   Then they generously prepared for our 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. soiree.  Despite the bustle they were the perfect host and hostess.

      Everyone had such a great time there is a movement afoot to make the summer barbecue event a yearly occurrence.   Vive la soiree!
